Costs

We believe that for routine treatment, our fees should be based upon time devoted to your individual care, rather than be based upon a pre-determined fee per item of treatment. Typical fees for routine treatments are:

Check-up; £37.
Hygienist appointment; £51.
Emergency appointment for relief of pain; £78.
Small - medium filling; £82 - £123.
Tooth whitening; £350.
Crown; £450 - £550.

Many of our regular patients prefer to join Denplan. Under Denplan we undertake to provide all necessary dental treatment, including access to our hygienist services, in return for a fixed monthly payment (typically £22*). You only pay the additional cost of the laboratory charge for items such as crowns, bridges and dentures.

Children pay only £6 - £11* per month, and benefit from free fissure sealants, where appropriate, and hygienist appointments while sports mouthguards can be provided, at cost.

*NB; Discounts available for family groups.

If requested we will be happy to provide a written treatment plan giving the details and cost of the proposed treatment. We respectfully request payment at the time for simple treatment and procedures but are happy to accept stage payments or to submit accounts as treatment progresses for longer courses. We accept payment by all Visa, Access and Switch cards.

Cosmetic Treatment

We would welcome the opportunity to help improve your appearance and self confidence with the latest techniques such as tooth-coloured porcelain inlays and veneers as well as enamel bonding to restore damaged and discoloured teeth.

Crowns and bridgework are also routinely available - simply ask.

We also provide tooth whitening kits, after consultation, where appropriate.

Mouthguards & Anti-snoring Appliances

If you play contact sports, protect your teeth with a custom made mouth guard. Oral appliances are an excellent method of treatment for snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnoea. The oral appliance is made by our technician to fit your mouth accurately following a set of impressions taken at the surgery.

We have a large range of dental hygiene products on display which are available for purchase.

Implants

We are experienced in the replacement of missing teeth by the use of implants. After a full assessment and diagnosis by our Consultant, who will carry out the surgical placement, implants may be used to replace single teeth or several teeth and also to give added support to dentures.

Implants are specially made posts that replace the roots of teeth that are missing and are used to support a new crown, fixed bridge or denture. It is made of titanium, a strong and lightweight material which has been shown to be compatible with the body and safe for use. When implants are installed they achieve immediate close contact with the surrounding bone. This creates an initial stability, which over time is steadily enhanced by further growth of bone into microscopic roughnesses on the implant surface. Well maintained implants placed into adequate bone can be expected to last for many years and probably for your lifetime. However, just as you would expect conventional crowns, bridges and fillings to need occasional repairs or replacements during their lifetime, your implant-supported teeth may also have similar maintenance requirements over theirs.

Emergency Treatment

Whenever possible you will be offered an emergency appointment within a few hours. Please telephone reception immediately, preferably early in the day.

Registered patients may obtain advice and emergency treatment, where necessary, during non-surgery hours by telephoning Michael on 01494 535590 or (mobile) 0785 086 3274.

At weekends and public holiday periods we are one of a rota of selected local practices providing emergency dental care for our registered patients and the duty dentist on call can be reached by dialling 07711051425.

Orthodontic Treatment

Michael has a particular interest in Orthodontics and, having worked closely with orthodontic consultants over many years, is able to provide most types of orthodontic treatment for the correction of crowded or irregular teeth.

Modern fixed appliances enable Orthodontists to offer much higher standards of care and porcelain brackets may be used to significantly improve the appearance and comfort of these types of brace.
